Objectives

Equip students with understanding and knowledge about open source software and Linux system administration:

  • Provide basic knowledge about open source licenses and FOSS community
  • Understand how Linux operating system works
  • Basic command line interface usage
  • Working with file systems, processes and services
  • Customizing system environment
  • Working with X-Windows
  • Configuring basic internet services

Assessment

  • Continuous assessment: 40%
  • Final exam: 60%
